Challenge

Lady Bridge Fishing wanted a flag to fly. Not literally, though with a logo like this they might be tempted to have one made. The visual language would need to work well on hats, custom fishing shirts, coozies and other branded gear.

Goal

To create a brand that, above all else, should let everyone know that whoever wears the logo catches a lot of fish.

Approach

In the sketching phase, the treble hook stood out as an important element to include since that's the type of hook they primarily use for Walleye fishing. Including a different type of hook could come off as generic and inauthentic. It was important to avoid using played out and generic tropes like an anchor, wave, or fish skeleton.

Outcome

The end result is a pretty ingenious combination of fishing line which formed a cursive L and a treble hook turned on its side to create the letter B. It took the played out fish hook element and turned it on it's side to form a unique and memorable logo.
